My name is Michelle Martinez. I moved to the valley when I was 13 years old. My art is influenced by the culture change that I experienced when we moved to California from North Dakota. I was amazed by the landscape of the valley, the beautiful historic buildings and of course, the palm trees!
Growing up my grandma Kaiser was obsessed with Bob Ross. From watching endless hours of his show and my grandma‘s growing crush on Bob Ross, my appreciation of art grew.
My grandmother was an artist herself in quilt making. Be sure to check out the quilt she made my family in 1985. My painting “Grandma's Quilt” is a nod to her artistic influence on me and all of her grandchildren.
